About Us
The Ian Legaree Youth Leadership Fund will serve as a scholarship fund designed to recognize and pass on Ian's many contributions to youth development and sports in the NWT.
Ian was a long-time coach with the Yellowknife Polar Bear Swim Club, and also served as the officiant for many major events.
Ian worked as the Director of Sports, Recreation and Youth for the GNWT from 1989 to 2020, and helped play a major role in the Arctic Winter Games.
