The Floyd County Community Foundation is proud to uplift organizations that strive to create impact in our communities."
So says Kurt Hoeft, chair of the foundation's impact committee, which last week awarded more than $154,000 in grants to 24 organizations in Floyd County.
The Cedar Valley Engine Club was among those to receive a check for $3,500, while the Charles City Arts Council and Shining Light on the Arts received $10,000 each, the Charles City Press reports.
The grants are awarded through the foundation's competitive grant process to projects in program areas of arts and culture, education, and youth development, environment and animal welfare, health and human service, and more.
